BBC One has recently revealed their plans to commission a feature documentary titled ABBA: Against The Odds, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of ABBA's legendary triumph at Eurovision in 2024. This significant milestone will be celebrated in Sweden, the host country for the contest once again. 

The documentary will be created by the highly acclaimed Rogan Productions, known for their exceptional work on documentaries such as Freddie Mercury: The Final Act. Renowned director James Rogan, a recipient of both BAFTA and Emmy Awards, will be at the helm of this project. BBC Studios will handle the worldwide distribution of this captivating documentary.

This is the account of ABBA's remarkable journey during their most influential years, from the release of Arrival (1976) to Super Trouper (1980). It delves into the band's personal struggles and the challenges they faced while achieving global recognition. The film will be broadcasted on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK this May.

ABBA: Against The Odds brings together a consortium of European broadcasters such as BBC, ARD/WDR, France Télévisions, SVT, and DR to finance a captivating feature film that delves into the extraordinary narrative of the iconic band.
